Algebra

Exponentials grow by repeated multiplication, and logarithms ask how many multiplications it took to get there.

A function turns each allowed input into exactly one output — composition chains these machines together.

An equation is a promise that two quantities are equal — solving means undoing operations on both sides.

Slope measures how much the output changes per unit of input — a constant rate of change along a line.
